This thing is a BEAST!!! At 36” in diameter, it’s HUGE!! It’s gorgeous and can fluctuate with many decor styles (from Glam to French country and beyond, depending on what you pair it with in your room decor-wise… it can suit many different tastes)! I’m going for kind of a French Country style… elevated elegance with rustic European touches… and this fit the bill beautifully! It took THREE of us adults to hang it and we did so with Gorilla Glue construction adhesive and hollow wall anchors. Now, with the regular hollow wall anchors (that are about 2-1/4” long screws) to accommodate the thickness of this medallion AND have bite left on it to make the hollow wall anchors work, you’ll have to get longer screws… 3” long ones worked for us. Also, it was hard to hold this big ole girl up to trace the circle and mark the holes, so if you have that trouble too, just make a paper template, lay it on the back of the medallion after you’ve predrilled the holes through the backing, and puncture where the holes are through your paper, and tape that template up to the ceiling to transfer the hole placement easier. (NOTE: when making your template be sure to put a piece of tape or something where one of the four curvy details is on the frame so you can match a piece of tape on the wall to it so your medallion faces in the direction you want it. I forgot to do this and mine is off-centered a little, but I don’t mind.) This isn’t heavy per se, but anything above your head gets “heavy” after awhile lol.Something to note: the frame is darker and more like a deep gold with a slight orangey hue (I tried formatting my phone’s color settings to reflect a more honest representation of it as iphones tend to automatically change the colors and lighting to look the best when you take a photo). Also, the cherubim aren’t lighter like it looks in the pics, the whole image in the center is a darker image. That kinda sucks a little, but it’s still GORGEOUS and a show-stopper for sure!(Currently repainting my kitchen cabinets to be green… later will change the backsplash and make the cabinets go to the ceiling and add glass to the pantry cabinets and change the cabinets over the stove to be a beautiful hood with wall shelves and add crown moulding to the ceiling… can’t wait to see this makeover finished!)
